In this perverted and adulterous generation, what a novel idea to establish education for Christian children and youth on the Holy Word of God. During the Reformation, Christians all over Europe established institutions of higher learning founded on God's Word. In fact, the Christian leaders of the English Colonies in America in the 17th century established schools, colleges, and seminaries all founded upon the Word of God. From 1636, when Harvard College was founded, right up through 1805, almost all education in America was founded upon and occupied with the Scriptures.
In fact, here is Harvard University's original mission statement:
"Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well the end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, and therefore to lay Christ in the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning."
This is amazing to me! Harvard's educational philosophy and purpose was so clear and Biblically sound at its founding. Tragically, in 1805 the liberal Unitarians completely took over Harvard University and kicked out all of the Bible-believing professors and administrators. As the above quote by Martin Luther states so clearly, Harvard University became corrupt because it rejected the authority of the Word of God and was no longer occupied with it or founded upon it. Harvard had the right original vision and purpose in education, and it held to its course for nearly 170 years, but slowly the lies and deceptions of the enemy crept in. What Jesus called, "the leaven of the Scribes and Pharisees," spread from a few to the many, until the majority took complete control and kicked God and His Word out of the university.
Today we need new Christian institutions that are founded upon the authority of Jesus Christ and God's Holy Word. We need new Christian universities, Christian colleges, Bible colleges, Christian private schools, and Christian home schools. We must establish them on the only foundation that can be laid: Jesus Christ and obedience to His commandments, for this is truly the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning.
Given the socialist origin of our pledge of allegiance in America, I decided to write a God-centered, Christ-centered, Biblical-worldview based pledge.

SHOCKING FACT:88% of evangelical Christian children are leaving the church and walking away from the faith within two years of graduating from public schools.
WHY? The reason for this is that 85-90% of Christian parents in America have given their children over to Caesar to be indoctrinated by a secular humanist, socialist, anti-Christian worldview "public school" system that is completely contrary to everything that the Bible stands for, to what Christian parents say they believe, and to the values, moral absolutes, ethics, and principles Jesus Christ and of the biblical Judeo-Christian worldview.
The vast majority of Christian children in America are not being educated according to Christ and his commandments, are not being discipled in the truth God has revealed in His Word, and are not being taught and mentored by their parents (or even by godly Christian teachers) according to the Biblical Educational Mandate as found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Matthew 28:18-20, and Ephesians 6:4.
Please take a few minutes and watch this YouTube video that was recorded at a Southern Baptist Convention a few years ago. The second person at the microphone is Roger Moran from Missouri, and the third person with the yellow tie is Bruce Shortt of Texas.
The topic is the "culture war" going on all around us between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness, between righteousness and wickedness, between Christ and the false gods of statism, secular humanism, and socialism.
Roger Moran makes a good point when he says, "At what point are Southern Baptists going to rise up and say, 'Enough is enough!'?"
Bruce Stortt makes an excellent point when he says that the Southern Baptists want to "engage the culture," but what that really means is "an abject surrender to the culture!" He strongly disagreed with the leader of the convention who urged Christian parents not to remove Christian children from the public schools because that would mean removing a "Christian witness" from the schools.
However, the fact is that Christian children are being converted to the world in public schools rather than converting the world to Christ. The harsh truth is that we're losing almost 90% of these Christian children to the world and their salt is being neutralized and their light is being extinguished! Jesus told his mature, adult, trained disciples to be salt and light in a heathen society, not children. Nowhere in Scripture are children missionaries. For decades now, many Christians have believed in the "salt and light" rationalization, but what do we have to show for it? The shocking truth is that Christian children in public schools are not converting the heathen, but rather, the heathen are converting our Christian children.
Shortt points out that in the California public school system, all children, including kindergarteners, are being INDOCTRINATED to believe that homosexual, bi-sexual, and other sexually deviant lifestyles are moral, normal, and acceptable. Homosexuality is actively being mainstreamed in all government schools, starting from age five, and there are now over 3,000 school districts that have homosexual clubs in middle schools and high schools.

In his book, Dr. Shortt states:
"Contrary to what many Christians have been led to believe, there is no such thing as a 'neutral' education," Shortt writes. "All education is religious and conveys a worldview, and there is no more important decision that we make as parents than how we educate our children."
"Unfortunately, Christian parents allow an aggressively anti-Christian institution to form the minds of their children, and the fruit of that choice is bitter. The overwhelming majority of children from evangelical families leave the church within two years after they graduate from high school; only 9 percent of evangelical teens believe that there is any such thing as absolute moral truth; and, our children are being forcibly indoctrinated to believe that homosexual behavior is acceptable."
"Homeschool parents must have this book to minister to their Christian friends and neighbors, pastors and skeptical relatives. Our government-school habit is sowing the wind, and unless Christians turn from this gross sin we will reap a whirlwind that is unimaginable."
In his book, Shortt documents the dangers of public schools, saying the anti-Christian thrust of the governmental school system produces inevitable results such as "moral relativism (no fixed standards), academic dumbing down, far-left programs, near absence of discipline and the persistent but pitiable rationalizations offered by government education professionals."
Shortt urges pastors and Christian leaders to read the book so they might "understand why the church can no longer abdicate its historic role in the education of our children."
This book makes it clear why no Christian child should be left behind in government schools. "Our Christian children are perishing because parents and pastors lack knowledge. The information in this book exposes the 'salt and light' and the 'our schools are different' rationalizations for educating Christian children in pagan schools for the contemptible falsehoods they are."
"Any parent or pastor who genuinely desires to be faithful in the education of Christian children needs to find out what the public schools are actually doing, rather than relying on what they are saying they are doing or on memories of the public schools as they may have existed 10, 20 or 30 years ago."
